SYNOPSIS An exorbitantly wealthy and privileged family’s life is suddenly threatened when a Mother and her young son face death after an uncharacteristically violent and disturbing outburst by the family’s patriarch. But is it even him? With no way out of the house, the Mother must decide to brutally sacrifice herself to hope that her daughter may have a chance at survival. DIRECTORS STATEMENT Having read the script for the first time, I immediately wanted to explore the concept of the "superego as double" . Soon I began reading about Das Unheimliche's (Sigmund Froid) "The Uncanny," Freud's definition is: uncanny as the class of frightening things that leads us back to what is known and familiar. My focus was on exploring the fear through the eyes of the young daughter as she saw the strange transformation of the familiar. This is a sound redesign project I did for school. Its a snippet from a movie titled Boy and The World and I recreated and redesigned all the sound effects and even added in music. I then mixed everything together in 5.1 surround sound. Please see the original movie. Its a beautiful heart warming film which I keep close to my heart.
